Hola Lovelies!
I had never really attended any bloggers’ meet until the very recent one organised by Dove and Indiblogger! It started with a compelling Email sent by Indiblogger, inviting each of us to the Bloggers’ meet arranged at J.W.Marriott which was enough to catch my eye. As my sister, also a blogger, decided to attend this meet, I knew the signal was green for me. I did have a moment of doubt on 11/05/2014 (Sunday: The day this event was held) as I debated upon spending my day listening to boring presentations or lazing around. Funnily enough I did not really have a choice or my sister would have haunted me till death on this one for ditching her.
Theme of the Bloggers’ meet? Wear White! Dove, stands for and emphasizes on the white color, which to my delight, is a perfect summer thing.
Go play, have fun.. Dove will take care of everything!
As I entered timidly, I met my very pissed sister waiting for me and a brilliant set up. I registered my name as I walked in and was instantly given my team number and a road map to our yet to be unfolded, super-fun evening. We were served evening snacks, wine (white, rose and sparkling) and cheese (Yum!). There was a selfie booth, for clicking the crazy selfie trend and professional photographers clicking our red carpet moments.
Moving forward, as we were shown to our seats in the Grand Sangam Ballroom, we sat holding our breaths, awaiting a great time to come. Dove’s host and hostess lost no time and ensured that we did not get bored and had loads of fun. After so much of cheese and wine, it was the time for Zumba! (Just what I was waiting for, little bit of workout). We danced on nearly 3 songs, panting and sweating as we made new friends with the members of our group. We were team 6 and named ourselves ‘Team Pixie’ for the team name had to be a hair-cut we adored! Cute ne?
The Zumba Pic is a bit shaky because it was tough to keep up with the steps and click! 🙂
Fyi, there was another twitter contest going on so I flooded my twitter account with live feed updates. I would say ‘spam’ would be a more appropriate word here. After the intense work-out our game plan started! This is my team’s road map to fun!
Out first task was to hit the balls… Nah, we had to pick up the white dove balls from a bed full of colored balls and throw it inside another bucket which was held by the rest of our team members.
Yes, I got a dove badge and my partner tagged me as ‘gorgeous’ as we were supposed to compliment our team mates and break the ice! Showering compliments always help now, don’t it? Notice the sweaty hair?..I blame it on Zumba and I love it!
This is a disturbingly bad and only picture I have for the ball room! Look at how my stomach is popping out after so much of cheese and wine (Despite the intense workout!). Sadly, we lost here by nearly 5- 6 balls but what the hell? I think I stopped having such kiddish fun as I grew up and technology took over my mind, body and schedule. Geez, I have become such a slave to my Ipad, phone and internet that I never travel without the gadgets! Moving Forward was the puzzle-mania room. Remember those Jig-Saw puzzles we played as kids? Something similar except this one was huge, covering nearly 1/4th of a wall.
I have to say, I was relaxed and glad by this time and thanking the fear of my sister that kept me from cancelling such a remarkable evening date. 🙂
Next, was the hair play time as per my treasure- route mentioned above. Guided by uber friendly staff members, we glided to the next hall where we got to play with the hair of our team-mates! Aye- Aye captain…
Notice the pretty pearl headband, clips and a friendly tutorial to choose from for transforming our hair. I was exceptionally happy with my pearl headband for I felt like a princess and I was treated like one at the meet.
Finally, the long awaited Hula Hoop Room. I was eying this activity right from the beginning as I always wanted to go ‘hula -hooping’. It took me nearly 5 minutes to pick up the Hula Hoop trick and another 5 and few glasses of wine to forget the same before the game began! Irrespective, team Pixie had some super awesome bloggers who won this one for us as I jumped along in joy.
After all the excitement, running and sweat Dove had planned a pampering hair styling trip where professional stylists came into the picture and made us all pretty as before. As a matter of fact, prettier than before, I just got some straightening done as I still need some length to play excessively with long tresses! We got free straightener by Philips and Dove’s all time favorite Shampoo and Conditioner to repair our hair. They included a cute little dove brooch which I will wear very soon for my upcoming Lookbook Post.
Oh wait! It’s not over yet… There was another event planned by Dove.. A Cock-tail competition and finally we won gift vouchers worth 1500/-. I have already mentioned how super awesome team- pixie was and the Cocktail was just perfect balance of sweetness and alcohol, very chicky- ideal for our girly taste buds.
The night ended with a sumptuous dinner and desserts with last minute dance performance and a very small ‘Dove- Birds’ challenge and a small interview. Dove took the extra effort and arranged for drops back home ensuring our safety after the royal treatment which swept me right off my feet. A day full of pampering, surprises and new friends! What could have been better than spending my day at Dove’s meet?
Dove stood by there Motto: Have fun, we will take care of the rest!
I love these magnificent Pink sunglasses I snagged from that day apart from the gifts, pampering and loads of beautiful memories! 😛
I would love to have a play date with Dove again!
Xoxo!
