Matte lips are back for good and it is such a relief since they look extremely retro and classy. Until last fall, matte was all about the higher end brands which meant lighter pockets for minimal amount of lipstick. Oriflame has launched matte lipstick as a part of their ‘the one’ collection (Hurrah!).
Price: These lipsticks are pretty affordable at INR 499 for 4g; we cant use the lipsticks forever given to their shelf life!
My take on the product
The Matte lipsticks from ‘the one’ collection comes in a gray plastic bullet body (Its not very attractive but then, we cant judge a book by its cover). It has a click cap which protects the lipstick while travelling. I choose ‘Pink Raspberry’ shade from their collection (I had a thing for this name). The lipstick is surprisingly creamy which makes the application super easy. The pigmentation is pretty good with one swipe. It is not a super matte lipstick that you want for the sake of a retro trend. It is a semi matte but super creamy lipstick with no tugging on the lips issue.
The lipstick stayed on my lips for atleast 5- 6 hours (without food/ drink); fading evenly. It will last fairly for 3- 4 hours with food and beverages. I really like the texture of the product, however, the name- pink raspberry is a bit misleading. The color is more pinkish plum with blue undertones. You can find this shade here.
